The Clothesline Project

Monday, February 13, 2012
Utah State Capitol Rotunda
12 noon to 4 pm

Domestic and sexual violence in Utah will be the focus at the Utah State Capitol on Monday, February 13 as the Clothesline Project goes on display in the Rotunda.

The Clothesline Project gives a voice to victims of domestic and sexual violence and their family members and friends by displaying individually decorated shirts hung on clotheslines that reflect the individual’s feelings about their experience. This year's Project will feature more than 100 shirts created in Utah. While many of the images and messages are disturbing, the display provides a unique opportunity for the public to gain insight into how domestic and sexual violence impacts our families, friends, neighbors, and coworkers. Event organizers will also hold a press conference at 11:30 am to discuss the event and ongoing efforts to prevent interpersonal violence in Utah.
